Brazilian President Highlights New Program against. Extreme Poverty Brasilia, May 14. – President Dilma Rousseff said that the Affectionate Brazil plan is one of the major actions the government has taken to fight poverty in early childhood. With this plan, mothers could raise their children in peace and with more hope, as well as give them a better future, Rousseff said on her Monday regular radio program, Coffee with the President, in which she talked about the government's new project to fight poverty in the country.

The plan, which will be officially presented this afternoon, was already announced by the president in a message to the nation on Mother's Day, broadcast on radio and television on Sunday night.

Rousseff said the project will benefit about two million Brazilian families that live in extreme poverty with at least one child under six years of age. Social actions, including income distribution in education and health, will also be favored with this plan.(Prensa Latina)
