Ecuador-Perú Summit to Focus on Social InclusionLima, Feb 28. – The presidents of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, and Peru, Ollanta Humala, and their ministerial teams, will hold a summit in Peruvian territory this week with emphasis on social inclusion.

Such nature was confirmed by representatives of both parties, amid intense preparations 48 hours before the summit, to take place in Chiclayo City, 780 kilometers north of this capital.

Both, the executive director of Peru Chapter of Peru-Ecuador Binational Plan, Vicente Rojas, as well as Ecuadorian ambassador in this capital, Diego Ribadeneira, said that inclusive topics, such as the anti-poverty fight, are included in the 5th Binational Summit agenda.

Rojas said that the session of the binational cabinet of ministers will discuss new goals and plans aimed at reducing children malnutrition and increase the cover of social services in the populations of both sides of the borders.

New goals in the health and education sectors, and in the anti-poverty fight, among others, must be set for boosting development, added Rojas.

For his part, ambassador Ribadeneira referred social inclusion as a priority of the summit, which will also include topics of infrastructure and connectivity, environment and production, and security and defense. (Prensa Latina)
