Cuba´s Experiences with Medicine Fighting Cancer, Diabetes
Havana, Dec 9. – Cuba´s experiences with some medicines of great demand to fight cancer and diabetes are being discussed on Friday in this capital during an international workshop on design and good practices in clinical trials.
Among the most demanding medicines is CIMAvax-EGF, to treat patients with lung cancer, and nimotuzumab, to treat people with tumors such as glioma, in which we discard surgery.
Also on the list are Heberprot, to treat patients with diabetic foot ulcers, and streptokinase, for some cases of heart attacks and lung embolism.
Participants in the event will also exchange experiences on rigorous clinical studies, regulations and ethics through round tables, and lectures.
The 5th Workshop, taking place at the Havana´s Conference Palace, is an opportunity to facilitate knowledge exchange between Cuban and foreign experts that set the global agenda in the organization of clinical trials.(Prensa Latina)
