4 Teams Qualified to Second Round of Baseball World Cup
Santiago de Veraguas, Panama, Oct 7. -The baseball teams of Canada, Panama, and the Netherlands in the competition group A, and also Cuba in group B, on Friday are already qualified for the second round of the 2011 IBAF World Cup, held in various cities of the country.
Canadian, Dutch, and host baseball players head the competition group A with four wins and any defeat, while being virtually unassailable for the rest of the teams.
Cubans also have four victories in an equal number of games, and are qualified for the second round of the competition, scheduled for Tuesday.
The teams of the United States, which is the defending champion, and Venezuela are also practically qualified for the next stage while having three victories and one defeat in group A and B, respectively.
The Italian team (3-1), however, has a more difficult situation in group B while facing Cuba, South Korea, and Venezuela in the last three games of the qualifying round. (Prensa Latina)
