Caricom Focuses Expectations in Summit with Cuba in December

New York, Sep 28. -Foreign Ministers of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) said that the summit between Cuba and the regional bloc in December will be an opportunity to strengthen cooperation, economic relations, and to increase investment.
Cuba is special to the Caribbean and there are many expectations for the meeting, said the foreign ministers of the Community, who met in New York on Tuesday in a parallel meeting to the 66th UN General Assembly.

The meeting will be useful to explore new areas of collaboration and also to express appreciation for Cuba´s generosity in providing technical and human resources for the development of Caricom, said the ministers.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, visited last Friday his counterparts in the Community, an opportunity to reaffirm his country's will to strengthen ties with the regional body, said Caribbean News Now website.

Cuba-Caricom IV Summit will take place in Trinidad and Tobago on December 8 and it will be the successor to the meeting in Santiago de Cuba in 2008. (Prensa Latina)
