Salvadoran Parliamentary Delegation to Visit Cuba

Salvadoran Parliamentary Delegation to Visit CubaSan Salvador, May 27. -The President of the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador, Sigfrido Reyes, said a delegation from that body is traveling to Cuba on Friday for a four-day official visit.

Reyes said at a news conference that the trip is a response to an invitation from the president of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, Ricardo Alarcon, who visited El Salvador from October 9 to 13.

Reyes added that the vice president of parliament, Guillermo Gallegos, from the Great National Unity Alliance (GANA) will accompany him during the visit.

The delegation also consists of deputies Orestes Ortez, members of the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front, and Serafin Orantes, from the National Conciliation Party.

As chairman of the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador, I carry a message of friendship and brotherhood, to the Cuban people, Reyes told Prensa Latina.

This visit will serve to further deepen the excellent relations between our two nations after the resumption of diplomatic relations on June 1, 2009, said Reyes. (Prensa Latina)
