Cuban People Close Parade MassivelyHavana, Apr 16 .-The Cuban people closed massively the extraordinary celebration for the 50 anniversary of the victory of Bay of Pigs invasion.

An endless popular march, that followed the parade of little more than an hour and showed some of the powerful means of defense of the Armed Forces, recalled also with enthusiasm the anniversary of the proclamation of the socialist character of the Revolution.

The Revolution Square, as tradition in times of historic rallies, was completely packed with people since early morning, while hundreds of thousands of people gathered to march after the military units and student groups, who did it first.

Revolutionary slogans, the reaffirmation of principles held for more than half a century after the triumph of January 1, 1959; the waving of flags; marked the popular march that closed the celebrations in the Square.

Representations of all the municipalities of Havana walk in front to the presidential platform from where President Raul Castro and the rest of the leadership of the Government and the Communist Party of Cuba greeted the people.

Particular significance had the majority presence of youngsters, to whom these celebrations that recall very special chapters in Cuban history are dedicated, and once more, they were proclaimed followers of the revolutionary process.

The popular parade was a transcendent preamble to the deliberations of the Sixth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, which delegates have the task of drawing fundamental economic and social guidelines for the country. (Prensa Latina)
