IOC Confident of Rio Olympics 2016

London, Apr 6. -President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Belgian Jacques Rogge, ruled out any likely worry about preparations for the Olympic Games of Rio 2016.

According to Rogge, the IOC is confident that Brazil will comply with deadlines, despite the country is also focused on preparations to host the World Soccer Cup of 2014.

"We are confident that set deadlines will be met", said Rogge in a press conference, where he explained that the IOC maintains very direct contact with FIFA, with both organizations benefiting from close collaboration and exchanging relevant information in their processes of preparations for both games.

In his opinion, this is good for having facilities ready on time for the Olympics in Rio 2016.

The IOC was recently there and gathered very good reports in this regard.

Roggee's appearance is part of the agenda of the IOC's Executive Committee during his visit to London, where the last press conference is scheduled to be offered on Wednesday.

The Executive Committee is also expected to discuss broadcast rights and medical services for the Winter Olympics of Sochi 2014.

The press conference was also attended by presidents of the international federations of Summer and Winter Olympics Denis Oswald and Rene Fasel, respectively. (Prensa Latina)
