Cuba to Discuss Oil Exploration in the Gulf of MexicoHavana, Apr 1. -An international workshop on geology and petroleum potential in the southeastern Gulf of Mexico will be he center of discussions in the Earth Sciences Convention, which will open here next Monday.

The event is part of the program of the Conference on Oil and Gas, which will be held in parallel to Geoscience 2011.

Delegates from five continents will learn about the current state and prospects for exploration and production of oil and gas in Cuba, to be explained in several conferences by specialists of the country.

Researchers from Venezuela, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Cuba, as host, will attend the fourth International Convention on Earth Sciences.

Specialists from Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy and Russia, Angola and Namibia and delegates from the United States, Canada and Australia will also attend the event.

"Geologists, geophysicists and miners proud to work for the welfare of society" is the motto of Geosciences 2011, which will be held until 8 April. (Prensa Latina)
