Cuban Taekwondo Athletes Qualify for Pan-American GamesHavana, Mar 29. -All eight Cuban taekwondo athletes who competed in the continental tournament in Lima, Peru, qualified for the Pan-American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, according to Jit sports weekly.

The Cuban athletes are Daynellis Montejo (49 kilograms), Taimi Castellanos (67), Glennis Hernandez (+67), Nydia Munoz (57), Rosbelis Despaigne (+80), Yosvel Perez (68), Frank Ismel Diaz (58), and Mario Juan Tellez (80).

In total, they had 15 wins and three defeats competing against athletes from 32 countries, including several Olympic and world medalists.

The other countries whose complete teams will go to the Pan-American Games are the United States and Canada, while Colombia and the Dominican Republic have seven athletes, and Argentina, Brazil, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela, six.

Chile (4), Costa Rica, and Ecuador (3), Aruba, Panama, Jamaica, Peru (2), and El Salvador, Honduras, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, Guyana, and Uruguay (1) complete the list of participants. (Prensa Latina)
