According to a statement released by the armed force led by NATO, one of the soldiers died yesterday and the other today.

As is customary in such cases, the text does not provide details on the name or nationality of the victims, although some local sources say they are from the USA.

With these two casualties, the total is 445 ISAF soldiers killed in Afghanistan so far this year, according to the independent web site, www.icasualties.org, whose tally of foreign soldiers killed since the beginning of the invasion in 2001 rises now to 2,013.

Of that total, 1,236 are US soldiers, if it is confirmed that the last two victims are from the USA.

NATO also reported today the death of three civilians, a woman and two children, during an air strike against a vehicle carrying suspected Taliban rebels in the western province of Farah. (Prensa Latina)
