Design is King this Week in Havana

Havana, May 25. -The 10th Design Week will open featuring as main course a series of conferences on packaging and containers and its role in efficiency, competitiveness and promotion of products and services, reported organizers.

The meeting which this year commemorates its 30th anniversary is organized by the National Design Office (ONDI in Spanish). The opening speech will be in charge of Jose Cuendias Cobreros, director of ONDI.

Key speakers are famous Brazilian designer Luis Roberto Farina on the role of packaging and containers on competitiveness of products and the promotion of exports.

Another lecture will be delivered by Engineer Carmen Gutierrez, director of the Durero Caribe company, which packages famous Cuban exports like cigars and rum, among others.

At the conference, ONDI Design Awards 2010 will be delivered and an exhibition of outstanding Cuban designer Eladio Rivadulla Martinez will be opened at the Center of Development of Visual Arts.(Prensa Latina)
