Cuba Hosts 1st School of Neuroimmunology

Havana, Jun 12 .-The 1st Cuban School of Neuroimmunology, ECNI 2019, is taking place in Havana with specialists from Brazil, Guatemala and Cuba who will discuss new alternatives to treat demyelinating diseases.

 

Gathered at the Havana-based Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples until June 14, professors who are experts in neuroimmunology, neuroinflammation, neuroplasticity and neuroimmunomodulation will discuss new immunomodulatory and biotechnological therapeutic tools in the treatment of those ailments.

Under the auspices of the Neuroscience Society of Cuba and the International Organization for Brain Research, ECNI 2019 includes in its scientific program current aspects of the cerebral spinal fluid in multiple sclerosis, as well as new alternatives for the treatment of the disease.

The debate will also include the neurotrophic factors in autism and astrocytes as integrating elements of the neuroinflammatory response, as well as the therapeutic potential of NeuroEpo, a drug to fight Alzheimer disease.

The neurobiological bases of early stimulation in neurodevelopment, as well as neuroethics and transposthumanism in neurosciences, will be the emerging issues of ECNI 2019, which will close with a practical theoretical activity in Neuroimmunology units. (Prensa Latina)
