“Habanastation” Wins Special Award at the Egyptian Film Festival

Habanastation Wins Special Award at the Egyptian Film Festival Cairo, Mar 31.  – The Cuban film "Habanastation" won the Special Jury Prize in the 21 International Film Festival for Children in Cairo, event in which Mexico was the other Latin American country that won a prize.

The event held from March 23 to 30 in the capital of Egypt gave also three awards in four categories, one of which was feature film and "A Thousand Times Stronger" from Sweden, won first place.

Mexico won second place in the same category with the film "Bacalar".

Also won first place as well, the Czech film "Cookie"; in animation, the Hungarian "Vortex" (documentary) and the Canadian "The Driving Accident" (short film).

Selected to represent Cuba at the Oscar awards 2012 in the category of Best Foreign Film, the film by Ian Padrón won five awards in the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana.(Prensa Latina)
