France to Maintain Presence of Blue Helmets in Lebanon

Paris, Dec 10. -France decided to maintain the presence of the Blue Helmets in Lebanon, in spite of the attack in which five French soldiers and a Lebanese civilian were injured.The French government comunicated the decision on Friday and condemned the attack while called the Lebanese authorities to do as much as possible so that the responsible people for the attacks are judged.

The soldiers of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil, by its abbreviations in English) were reached by an explosion when they were travelling in a vehicle by the outskirts of the southern city of Shot, according to an official report of the world organization.

Unifil, created by the UN Security Council in 1978, counts on 12, 488 soldiers coming from 35 countries. (Prensa Latina)
