Electors go early to polls in Santa Cruz del Sur

Santa Cruz del Sur, Nov 26.- More than 62 percent of electors have exercised their right to vote in a historical day characterized by the commitment with our Comander Chief legacy.

Electors from 121 polling stations, organized in 85 districts, go with discipline to vote for new delegates that will represent us at Municipal Assembly of People’s Power in a two and a half years period.

According to Francisca Reyes Anaya words, president of the Electoral Commission here, we are in a participative democracy stage as a legislative instrument. It allows to reassert people’s power to vote the best, the most capable, developing elections where the most important thing is freedom of choice through a transparent, solid, massive and democratic process.

More than 19 904 electors, of the 32 116 registered in the lists, have voted in the nine popular councils of this territory, stated Reyes Anaya.

At seven o´clock in the morning, electoral authorities opened polling stations performing an act in which citizens participated though they started preparing staff from six o´clock.

The electoral proccess in Cuba is ruled under principles in Law 72, named Electoral Law of the Republic of Cuba, such as honesty, professionalism and impartiality.
