[:es]Commemorate the half-century of Higher Education in Camagüey[:]
[:es]Camagüey, Nov 7.- To maintain their comprehensive results and the legacy of the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, who inspired the formation of the new generations, the Minister of Higher Education, José Ramón Saborido Loidi, urged the students and professors of the University of Camagüey, Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz, in the central act by the 50 anniversary of that institution.
The owner welcomed the achievements of the Camagüey´s house of higher studies in the academic, scientific, research, extension and cultural during the meeting, hosted by the city of Avellaneda Theater and counted with the presence of Fernando Vecino Alegre, Juan Vela Valdés and Rodolfo Alarcón Ortiz, who in earlier stages, served as ministers of Higher Education in Cuba.
In addition, Santiago Lajes Choy, rector of the University of Camagüey, highlighted that more than 77 thousand 500 professionals from all areas of knowledge and more than two thousand foreigners have graduated in five decades of that campus, which currently has 53 racing, a faculty trained and aspires to reach the Excellence category in 2018.
For its part, Yisel Gibson, president of the University Students Federation (FEU) at the institution, meant the inclusive nature of the Camagüey´s university, from its genesis painted white, black and mulatto, while at the same time reaffirmed the commitment of the students with the ideas contained in the letter sent by the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro, 17 January 1978.
Also in that space, the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party and the Provincial Assembly of Popular Power, from the hands of their highest authorities, as well as the Union of Young Communists in the territory, the National Trade Union of Workers of the Education, Science and Sport and the Ministry of Higher Education; recognized that emblematic center for their work.
With the motivation of being the first university created by the Revolution, this November 6 took place the central act by the 50 years of Higher Education in Camagüey, nuanced by the issuance and cancellation of a postal stamp, the awarding of medals and recognitions, among other initiatives.
