Havana, Cuba, Aug 9.- The Mariana de Gonitch National Singing Academy will dedicate on Monday a special concert to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, on the occasion of the 87th birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution on August 13.
Havana’s Jose Marti Memorial will be the venue of the concert, Fidelísimo concierto, conducted by maestro Hugo Osle, director of that vocal group.
The gala will have soprano María Eugenia Barrios as special guest, who will interpret part of the Cecilia Valdes Spanish operetta and the opera La Traviata, announced on Thursday Osle, a tenor that will reappear on stage after almost eight years without singing.
Also for the occasion will be the premiere of a version of Alma llanera, an emblematic Venezuelan musical piece that will be 100 years old in 2014. (ACN)
