Local Government Authorities in Peru Receive Adriana PerezHavana, Cuba, Aug 20.-  The governor of the Peruvian region of Lambayeque, Humberto Acuna, met on Sunday with Adriana Perez, wife of Gerardo Hernandez, who is one of the five Cubans condemned to long prisons sentences in US jails, in 2001, for fighting terrorism.

According to PL news agency, the regional governor received Adriana Perez, along the Cuban ambassador to Peru Juana Martinez, as well as the representative of the Cuban Committee of Relatives of Terrorism Victims, Ileana Alfonso.

The visitors, who attended the 13th Solidarity with Cuba Forum in Chiclayo, capital city of the Lambayeque region, briefed the Peruvian governor on the serious situation facing the five Cubans, who were in US territory monitoring terrorist organizations.

Four of the five Cubans are still in prison, while one of them, Rene Gonzalez, was released from prison after he met his sentenced by was forced to remain for a three-year probation in US territory.

The 13 th Solidarity Forum issued a declaration demanding the immediate return of the Cuban Five to Cuba.

During the meeting, governor Acuna and ambassador Martinez address opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, health, sports. (Radio Cadena Agramonte)
