Havana, Apr 6. – A delegation from the Chilean Communist Youths (JJCC) paid tribute to Argentinean-Cuban guerrilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara at the monument that keep his remains in Villa Clara.
We young people are the legacy of Che and all those who have made us regain hope, not only for Latin America, but also for the whole world, said JJCC General Secretary Karol Cariola in statements published in the Cuban newspaper Juventud Rebelde on Friday.
We are very pleased to pay tribute to him. His example and his struggle are our everyday inspiration, added the young leader, who was accompanied by JJCC Executive Secretary Luis Lobos.
Also present during the tour of the central city of Santa Clara, some 230 kilometers east of Havana, was Camila Vallejo, vice president of the Students Federation of the University of Chile and one of the leaders of the students protests in her country.
The visiting Chilean students also met for nearly six hours with their peers from the Marta Abreu Central University of Las Villas, which was the third university founded in Cuba and will turn 60 years in November.
During the meeting, Vallejo presented her book "Podemos Cambiar el Mundo" (We Can Change the World), which explains that students movements result from a historic construction and the sacrifice of generations in different contexts.(Prensa Latina)
