SELA to Hold Meeting on the Region”s Financial Architecture

SELA to Hold Meeting on the Region's Financial Architecture Caracas, Feb 18. – The Permanent Secretariat of Latin American Economic System (SELA), will hold from February 27 to 28 a regional meeting on financial architecture.

In order to analyze the current situation in the monetary and financial crisis, and the responses from the multilateral and regional level, the organizers decided that the theme of the meeting will be "Analysis and proposals for strengthening the financial architecture in Latin America and the Caribbean."

According to information from the SELA, the event which will be held in this capital, will be attended by the Secretary General of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR), Maria Emma Mejia and officials from finance ministries and central banks of countries of the region.

During the meeting, organizers plan to present the main achievements and challenges of participating institutions and exchange ideas and regional experiences such as the Unique Regional Compensation System (Sucre), the Bank of the South and the ALBA.(Prensa Latina)
