Havana, Jan 25. -Latin America has a debt to the struggle against masculinity, a concept defined as a way of seeing and constructing reality, marked by society''s specific ways of thinking, an expert said in this capital.Edgar Vega, an expert with the "Simon Bolivar" Andean University in Quito, Ecuador, told reporters that male sexuality, marked by the ideological policies of cultures, plays an important role in the region, and adversely affects not only women, but also men.

"Sexuality is the most contentious area of human beings, where all distinctions are rooted," said the expert, who is attending the 6th Cuban Congress on Sex Education, Orientation and Therapy, taking place in Havana.

Masculinity is dismantled today and appeals to all the contributions femininity has made to humankind, for example, dialogue, non-violence, sovereignty of the body and beauty.

This and other interesting issues are being debated on Wednesday at Havana's Conference Center, where the event opened on Monday.
