Turkish Politicians, Citizens Reject Hostility vs. Syria

Damascus, Dec 31. -Turkish politicians and citizens, such as Numan Kurtulmus, the leader of the People's Voice Party of Turkey, on Saturday rejected the hostility unleashed by the government of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan against Syria. In remarks to Syrian television, Kurtulmus stated that the Turkish government's hostile policy is in tune with foreign interference in Syria, which could lead to a war in the region, with catastrophic consequences.

The Turkish opposition leader said the Syrian people are the only ones responsible for resolving their own problems through dialogue. He rejected all foreign interference and plots orchestrated against that country.

Kurtulmus also urged the government of Recep Tayyip Erdogan to contribute to peace and stability in the neighboring country and the region, instead of joining the actions by the Western powers and some Arab states against Damascus.

In a detailed article, the Israeli DEBKAFile website and other media that have investigated the issue, assured that Qatar and Saudi Arabia are arming and financing an anti-Syria mercenary force, which is being assembled and trained in Turkish camps, with Ankara's authorization. (Prensa Latina)
