Mercosur to Speed up Venezuela’s Incorporation

Montevideo, Dec 20. -The 42th Summit of Heads of State of the South Common Market (Mercosur) developed here on Tuesday a dynamic agenda targeted at speeding up Venezuela's incorporation to the sub regional bloc.Paraguayan President to MERCOSUR Summit During the meeting Argentine foreign minister Hector Timerman emphasized Caracas' solidarity and generosity with Mercosur countries, The Union of South American Nations and the entire region.

The summit of social organizations of the institution expressed itself in that sense and in a declaration approved in full session it called on the leaders to quicken the entry to the organization of Simon Bolivar's motherland . Founded 20 years ago by Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, the three first nations already agreed with Venezuela's joining, unlike Paraguayan parliamentarians.

Argentine President Cristina Fernandez confirmed her participation at the event, where she will receive the pro tempore presidency (which rotates every six months)from Venezuela. President Dilma Rousseff from Brazil has also confirmed her attendance.

Also attending will be Presidents Fernando Lugo from Paraguay, Rafael Correa of Ecuador and, the last to ratify, Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. (Prensa Latina)
