Pan-American Bronze medallist in Santa Cruz del Sur

Santa Cruz del Sur born athlete Maritza Toledo Soca, bronze medallist with the Cuban softball team in the Pan-American Games Guadalajara 2011, arrived on Tuesday to Cándido González, her hometown.Family, friends, and neighbours welcomed Maritza with the joy of meeting her after one year without visiting the place where she was born, and at the same time happy for the results obtained in the recently finished games.

The Cuban flag at the entrance of her house accompanied the exhibition of trophies awarded i previous stages since her commencements, in top category and national championship.

More than 10 medals amass this young lady, with participation in three Pan-American Games, ALBA Games and Cuban Sport Olympics, among other competitive contests.

The Cuban softball team Captain since 2007, Martiza Toledo Soca, in her hometown, handed over the bronze medal obtained in Guadalajara to Maritza Soca Lorenzo (her mother) and other members of her family. (Yamile Agrenot Castillo/ Radio Santa Cruz)
