Colombian Students Go on Strike Again

Bogota, Oct 26. -Colombian students from public and private universities will take the streets nationwide again on Wednesday to protest an education reform the Government promotes. The main cities of the country will witness the studentsâÖ protests once again, which openly express their rejection to this regulation as they consider it infringes the right to education given that it turns it into a good.

The Local Administrations and the Metropolitan Police met student leaders to reach agreements that facilitate the protests to be carried out under normal conditions.

On the other hand, the Government insists that the bill, already presented at the Congress, will not be pulled back, while students affirm they will defend the right to Education.

Not only public university students have joined the protests, which triggered in October 12, but also those of private universities as well as workers and different sectors of the civil society. (Prensa Latina)
