World Population Nearing 7bn
United Nations, Oct 19. -The world population is today 12 days short of reaching to seven billion, a fact to reaffirm the challenges intrinsic of an aging demography engulfed by an on going economic slump.Hitting the number on October 31st will be circulated Tuesday in report from the UNPF in symultaneous ceremonies in 100 cities.
The document entitled State of the world Population 2011: Persons and Possibilities in a world of seven billion, proposes actions for a planet with 10bn to 16bn populace by the end of the 21st century.
In exerpt published at the UN headquarter in New York, the report presents the ensuing challenges and opportunities related to aging, growth of the young population, urbanization and emigration.
