U.S. Blockade Causes Damages to Cuba Construction

That almost 50-year policy has affected repair and houses construction programs, states the Resolution 65/6 of the UN General Assembly entitled "The Necessity of Ending the Economic, Commercial, and Financial Blockade Imposed by the United States of America against Cuba."
Damages caused in this sphere between April 2010 and March 2011 are estimated at 22,547,634 USD.
Taking into account the average costs by repair and houses construction, nearly 16,400 houses were not restored and 27,330 were not maintained due to damages.
Despite intensive and increasing demands of the international community to the U.S. government for a change to Cuba, U.S. President Barack Obama has maintained intact that policy, states the text.
The blockade violates the international law, is contrary to the UN principles, and is a transgression to development and security of a sovereign State, the resolution notes.
It is in essence and objectives, an act of unilateral aggression and a permanent threat to the stability of a country, the document states.
The blockade also violates the U.S. peopleâ�Ös constitutional rights, when it forbids its citizens can travel to Cuba. (Prensa Latina)
