Argentina Faces Brazil in Americas’ Soccer Super Classic

Buenos Aires, Sep 14. -The national soccer team on Wednesday will face its counterpart of Brazil in the so-called Soccer Super Classic of the Americas, which consists of two matches per year and only includes players in domestic leagues. The match will be played at the restored Mario Kempes stadium of Cordoba, at 710 kilometers northeast of the capital, and the second round will be on Sept. 28 in the city of Belem, capital of the Amazonian state of Para.

The first Super Classic match will be the third friendly game for Argentine coach Alejandro Sabella, and his first one with just players in the domestic league.

In the Sabella era, the national soccer team defeated Venezuela 1-0 in India, and Nigeria 3-1 in Bangladesh.

The 2011 Soccer Super Classic of the Americas will be the first in series of 8 years, which was approved by the South American Soccer Federation in Jun. and is scheduled for every Sept. until 2018. (Prensa Latina)
