Swiss Agency Exhibits its Work in Cuba
Cienfuegos, Cuba, Sep 3. -The photo exhibition 10 x 4 of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) was inaugurated in the Office of the Curator of the central-southern city of Cienfuegos, 256 km southeast from Havana .Yenny Sanchez, SDC official in Havana, said the exhibition was conceived late last year, on the occasion of the organization's first decade of work in the island.
SDC is the organization responsible for international cooperation in the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Helvetian nation, and as such it supports initiatives of local actors in order to increase their own capacity of action.
Created in December 2007, the Office of the Curator of Cienfuegos city is the beneficiary of a SDC-funded project for the strengthening of its management capacity.
As part of that development cooperation program, a trade school attached to the Office, in charge of training workers with high specialization in works of restoration and conservation of the architectural heritage, will be inaugurated.
Besides Cuba, the SDC is present in another 11 countries, including Bolivia, Honduras and Nicaragua, members of the regional program for Latin America. (Prensa Latina)
