E.coli Epidemic Has German Gov’t under Pressure
Berlin, Jun 7. -The German government continued to seek the source of an E.coli epidemic that has killed 22 people.
Over the weekend, authorities identified a vegetable farm in the state of Lower Saxony as the possible source of the Escherichia coli (EHEC) epidemic, but speculation has not been verified yet.
Meanwhile, pressure was growing on the government of Chancellor Angela Merkel.
An expert with the socialist group in the German Parliament, Kirsten Tackman, criticized the industrialization of agriculture as a threat to safety that could have caused the epidemic.
Opposition parties reproached the government for having losing control over the situation. (Prensa Latina)
