Self-emplyment requests increase in Southern Camaguey

Santa Cruz del Sur, Jan 20. –Some 429 licences or permits for the self-employment have been granted so far in Southern Camaguey as part of the new openness process concerning other kinds of job, which is being carried out in the country since last ye.

In the current month there are already 120 licence requests to work in various kinds of self-employment, and according to Reinaldo Díaz Suárez, Employment assistant manager of the Local Job Organ, the presence of people requesting their permits has increased, with an average of about 25 requests per day in the last days

Activities as the carpenter, walking food producer-vendor, air-compressor operator, and flat tires fixer, among others, are the most requested licences for the self-employment.

Nowadays, the new form of self-employment in Santa Cruz del Sur and in the whole country constitutes an example of the various strategies taken by the Cuban State, with the purpose of restructuring the national economy, giving new salary and job options.
