Meeting of African and Caribbean Filmmakers in Cuba Proposed
Havana, Nov 20. -The organization of a meeting of African and Caribbean filmmakers in Cuba was proposed in the recently concluded meeting of Black Film of Africa, Brazil and the Caribbean held in Rio de Janeiro.
According to sources in the Office of the Caribbean Traveling Exhibition based in Havana, institutions and personalities of African cinema supported the initiative, whose prospects for South-South cooperation and mutual understanding were evident
The meeting in Rio was attended by the president of the Exhibition, the Cuban director Rigoberto Lopez, and Christian Grandma drom Guadaloupe, whose participation in panels and seminars allowed the strengthening of collaboration spaces between artists from the region and the African continent
Among the guests were the vice president of the National Assembly of Senegal, Iba Der Thim, and the minister for the diaspora in that country, Amadou Lamine Faye. (Prensa Latina)
