In recent hours, 76 more deaths were reported, and 1,583 more people were hospitalized with the main symptoms of cholera, severe vomiting and diarrhea, the ministry said on its website.
The latest report raises the number of cases confirmed to 18,382 since the cholera outbreak was first detected Oct. 20.
The situation has worsened significantly in the Port-au-Prince neighborhoods of Carrefour, Cite Soleil, Delmas, Kenscoff, Petion Ville, Tabarre, and Croix-des-Bouquets , with 46 deaths and 953 hospitalizations, the website said.
