New projects to benefit farmworkers in Santa Cruz del Sur

Santa Cruz Del Sur, May 24. –   Mártires de la Caobita Basic Unit of Cooperative Production in Haiti district, Santa Cruz del Sur, is developing new projects so as to increase the milk gathering and to sow a variety of crops that regularly are not sowed in this area.

The acquisition of new working instruments is something positive for the agricultural workers. And this gives the workers the possibility of digging the land easier and to increase the so needed agricultural and livestock production in Santa Cruz del Sur and in the whole country.

The six UBPC´s cow houses  were roofed, and by means of this project two windmills and their respective tanks were acquired, along with 4 truck pneumatics, several reels of wire and 626 corrugated iron tiles so as to ameliorate the housing problems of the workers.

Abel Veiga, administrador of this UBPC ensured that he counts on a very well prepared staff in farmworks and he also stated that the animal’s breedind is been intendified. (Lisi Walcott Mora/ Radio Santa Cruz)
