Peruvian Ambassador in Cuba Highlights Bilateral Ties

Havana, Jul 15. -Peruvian Ambassador Nestor Calderon highlighted the good state of bilateral relations and the presence in Cuba of more than 1,000 students from his nation training to be professionals.The diplomat stated that Ollanta Humala's inauguration will be on July 28, Peruvian Independence Day.

During a ceremony for the 190th anniversary of Peru's independence, held at the Havana Friendship House of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, Jose Prieto, director of the Latin American and Caribbean department, said that it was an appropriate moment to pay tribute to the heroes of the independence wars.

Prieto noted common historical aspects, naming Peruvian patriots who participated in the struggles against Spanish colonialism in Cuba. (Prensa Latina)
