Bogota, Dec 14 .-Cuba exhibits its textile crafts at Expoartesanias 2019, an event that will be held through December 17 in the Colombian capital.

The exhibition includes crochet weaving techniques, textile openwork, and all handicraft techniques, Cuban textile designer and craftsman Alexander Rodriguez told Prensa Latina.

‘We brought a sample of everything that is done in this type of work to this event, in different formats such as handkerchiefs, souvenirs, clothing. The offer is very varied,’ he said.

In his opinion, participating in this event is a very important opportunity as ‘we are able to show everything that is done in our country and, in some way, we are showing Cuban talent, in terms of craftspersonship.

In this regard, he referred to the collection ‘A punto y ganchillo,’ exhibited at Expoartesanias.

Rodriguez stressed that Cuban handicrafts are distinguished by their exclusivity, and the traditional techniques of yesteryear used. ‘Everything we bring here comes as a cultural heritage, adapting it to new market conditions and new fashion trends,’ he explained. (Latin Press)
