Cuba Attends Inter-Parliamentary Conference in Uganda Kampala, Mar 30. – A delegation of Cuban legislators arrived on Thursday to this capital to attend the 126th Conference of the Inter-Parliamentary Union to discuss issues of parliamentary and social interest.

The forum, attended by 1,200 legislators from around the world, will run March 31-April 5.

The Cuban delegation is led by Ramon Pez Ferro, Head of the International Relations Committee of the National Assembly of the People´s Power (ANPP, Cuban Parliament), and member of the Consultative Council of the Latin American Parliament.

It also includes legislators Rebeca Sonia Gonzalez Fernandez, Secretary of the Permanent Health and Sports Committee and Ada Martinez Cordovez, Administrative Secretary of the Cuban Inter-Parliamentary Group of the ANPP, according to a note from the Cuban Embassy in Uganda.

After their arrival to the International Airport of Entebbe, the visitors were received by officials of the Ugandan Foreign Ministry and Parliament, the Cuban Ambassador to Uganda Javier Viamontes Correa and other officials.

During their stay in Kampala, the Cuban legislators are also scheduled to meet with Ugandan National Assembly and government officials.(Prensa Latina)
