Chilean Writer: Gabriela Mistral Venerated Jose Marti Santiago de Chile, Jan 31. – Gabriela Mistral deeply admired Jose Marti, she considered him as her teacher, as the complement of her spirit, said Chilean poet Jaime Quezada.

The profound influence of the Cuban national hero's legacy on the works and life of the Nobel literature laureate (1945) was addressed by Quezada during the presentation of the book "Con espumas de señales: Gabriela Mistral y Cuba" by Cuban writer Amelia Roque.

Quezada recalled Gabriela Mistral's trips to Cuba and her desire to live here because it is the birthplace of Marti, whose ideology formed her spirit.

"His ideas are within me, as one," the universal poet once said.

In the Plaza Juan Sebastian Bach, in Santiago, Quezada, who is also president of the Gabriela Mistral Foundation, especially thanked Amelia Roque for the contributions and revelations of her documentary and investigative text, published for the first time in Cuba, in 2007.
