Brazilian Pole-Vaulter Murer Leads Prensa Latina PollHavana, Nov 20. -Brazilian pole-vaulter Fabiana Murer is still the favorite woman athlete in the Prensa Latina News Agency poll to choose the best athlete of the year in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Murer, indoor world champion in Doha, Qatar, and winner of the first edition of the Diamond League, won new 5 votes, for a total of 13, followed by Cuban triple jumper Yargelis Savigne (8).

The Brazilian athlete had the support of the Mexican newspapers Milenio, La Aficion, La Prensa, and Estadio, as well as Bolivia's Cambio.

Meanwhile, Savigne was praised by Mexico's El Economista, and Cuba's Radio Grito de Baire radio station.
