The film ‘Lucia’ will be followed by productions from Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Cuba, and Colombia, all of important aesthetic values, endorsed by critics and clapped by the audience, said in an encounter with the press the festival president Ivan Giroud.
The poster of ‘Restored Classics’ announces ‘The South’, an Argentine film by Fernando Ezequiel Solanas; ‘Three Sad Tigers’, a Chilean production by Raul Ruiz; and the Colombian film Rodrigo D. No Future, by Victor Gaviria.
Cuban cinematography is also represented by the films ‘Se permuta’, by Juan Carlos Tabio; while the Mexican cinematography will present ‘Canoa’, and ‘The Motives of the Light’, both by Felipe Cazals.
The productions date from the 60s, 70s and 80s, and were subjected to different processes to recover their original splendor after the passage of time, and adapt them to the new technologies available in the cinemas at present.
The 39th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema will have its headquarters in 10 cinemas of Havana, in which over 400 films from the region and other parts of the world will be screened.(Prensa Latina)
