In this regard, he stressed the importance of strengthening and keeping alive the event, to preserve and join forces and face the onslaught against leftist governments in the region.
The 24th edition of the annual meeting of the Forum of Sao Paulo will be held in this capital from July 15 to 17.
The meeting was held for the first time in 1990 in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo under the auspices of the Workers Party of Brazil, the result of an initiative by the historical leader of the Cuban revolution, Fidel Castro, and the former president of that Latin American nation, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
Almost three decades later, it brings together parties, leftist alignments, and social and progressive movements, and it figures as a space of convergence, debate and joint action for Latin America and the Caribbean.
