Broadcast Media Professionals in Camagüey Mark 90th Anniversary of First Radio Transmission in Cuba Camagüey, Aug 22.  Workers of the radio business in Camagüey province ratified Wednesday their commitment to the Cuba people and its Revolution, as the 90th anniversary the first radio transmission is celebrated nationwide.

Outstanding journalists Rosa María Moros Fernández and Pedro Paneque Ruiz were awarded the 90th Anniversary of the Cuban Radio Seal, as their colleagues Manuel Cano Iglesias and Lázaro Najarro Pujols were recipients of another accolade, the Micrófono de la Radio.   

The Office of the City Historian of Camagüey recognized the efforts of Radio Cadena Agramonte in promoting the conservation of the tangible and intangible heritage of a city that was proclaimed an UNESCO World Heritage in 2008.  

Music and patriot Luis Casas Romero, born in Camagüey, was the man who being in Havana made the first radio transmission in Cuba.(Radio Cadena Agramonte)
