Cuban Residents in Central America and Mexico Meet

Mexico, Nov 19. -The Fourth Meeting of Cuban Residents in Central America and Mexico is scheduled to start on Saturday, attended by some 600 delegates.The two-day meeting at the Granma Room of the Cuban Embassy will denounce the hostile US policy towards Cuba, according to President of the Jose Marti Association of Cuban Residents in Mexico, Vivian Lopez.

She told Prensa Latina that participants will demand the end of the unjust, criminal US economic, commercial, financial blockade on Cuba, and respect for the Island´s sovereignty, self-determination and cultural and historic values, as well as the release of The Cuban Five´Gerardo Hernandez, Rene Gonzalez, Fernando Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero and Ramon Labanino´unfairly serving harsh sentences in US prisons for fighting terrorist plans against their homeland.

The agenda of the meeting includes reviewing the work carried out by each association and drafting the action plan for next year.

A plaque to remember the 44 Cubans who took part in pro-independence struggles in Mexico, based at the Gustavo Medero delegation park, is scheduled to be unveiled on Sunday. (Prensa Latina)
