Angolan Parliament President Visits Cuba

Havana, Nov 18. -The president of the Angolan Parliament, Antonio Paulo Kassoma, began an official visit to Cuba on Friday, during which he will fulfill an agenda that includes holding talks with his Cuban counterpart, Ricardo Alarcon.Kassoma will pay tribute to the Cuban internationalist soldiers who died fighting for Angolan independence in the 1970s and 1980s.

Next week, the parliamentarian will meet the families of Gerardo Hernandez, Rene Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando González, the Cuban antiterrorist fighters sentenced to serve lengthy prison terms in the United States after they infiltrated Miami-based terrorist groups.

Kassoma will end his visit with a final communiqué.

In statements to Prensa Latina in early 2011 in Luanda, the Angolan leader underlined the bilateral relations between the two countries, recalling that they shaped during the Angolan war. (Prensa Latina)
