Hotels Boost in Eastern Cuba
Santiago de Cuba, Nov 7. -As part of efforts to develop the tourism industry, the Cuban hotel and catering trade business now boasts strong pillars in the eastern part of the country, with a wide range of proposals covering city, beach and nature.According to Miguel Bruguera, head of promotion of the Cubanacán Hotels Group, the company currently operates 52 hotels in countrywide with its own brand, also including more than 15 with foreign management.
The efforts of the Cubanacan Hotels chain are part of the new Cuban economic goals, especially when it comes to efficiency in terms of services.
The goals include to build new four and five-star hotels, and also to strengthen the training of employees to ensure greater satisfaction of guests, Bruguera said.
The Cubanacan hotel chain has facilities all over the nation and particularly in Santiago de Cuba, which occupies an important place for its characteristics and surroundings, full of natural beauty, history and legends, Bruguera added.
He referred to El Salton as one of the most attractive sites in the Sierra Maestra mountain region, which is a point of reference in eastern Cuba for those who want to experience nature.
He also cited the Hotel Versailles, opened in the 60's, where many personalities, political leaders and famous visitors were welcomed to stay.
The Hotel Meliá Santiago is a symbol of successful dealing with foreign companies, in this case with the Spanish Sol Melia company.
Other highlight is the Amigo Carisol-Los Corales Club, in the Baconao Park, in the southern part of Santiago de Cuba, after a restoration that reopened its doors on Oct. 26 and already has many customers, said Brugueras. (Prensa Latina)
