Brazil, Nicaragua Sign Cooperation Agreements

Brasilia, Jul 15. -Foreign ministers Antonio Patriota (Brazil) and Samuel Santos (Nicaragua) signed three agreements, additional to the Basic Agreement on Technical Cooperation suscribed in Managua in 2006, that will increase the spheres of mutual exchange.Cooperation between these two nations will include Brazilian technology transfer in bioenergy and sustainable practices in the exploitation of charcoal and other wood resources.

The Federal University of Viosa, Minas Gerais, will be involved in two projects.

Brazil will also offer technical support to Nicaragua to increase the quality of reforestation processes based on sustainable models using less pollutants and more efficient energy sources. (Prensa Latina)
