Cuba to Collaborate inTraining Jamaican FarmersKingston, Jun 22. -The president of Jamaica´s Agricultural Society Glendon Harris expressed his interest that Jamaican farmers visit Cuba for special training in the manufacture of organic fertilizer.

According to Harris, the programme will be possible thanks to a future collaboration between JAS and the Cuban Association of Small Farmers, announced Jamaica´s Information Service.

Speaking at the St. James Association of Branch Societies´Annual General Meeting, at the St. Johnâ�Ös Methodist Church, in Montego Bay, the JAS leader announced that he will travel to Cuba in September or October to coordinate these and other training programs.

The training programs designed by both parties are aimed at drastically reduce the cost of fertilizer and chemicals, making their farming activities more affordable and profitable. (Prensa Latina)
