U.S Withdrawal from Afghanistan Still Uncertain

U.S Withdrawal from Afghanistan Still UncertainWashington, Jun 21. -The White House has not yet provided any details on the planned withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan in July, while speculation continues to grow about President Barack Obama's decision about the issue.

The local press considers Obama may well refer to the issue on Thursday from the Fort Drum military base in New York, but the Oval Office says he has not yet made a related decision.

A total of 100,000 U.S. soldiers are deployed in Afghanistan, where the U.S. government has spent 18.8 billion USD in 10 years, Senate Democrats said in a report issued on June 8.

That report excludes the 5.6 billion USD Washington invests each month in that military campaign.

In the meantime, the number of people in the United States who advocate a U.S. withdrawal from that country keeps growing. (Prensa Latina)
