Cuba: Underwater Photography Contest

Cuba: Underwater Photography ContestHavana, Feb 9. – In order to promote natural tourism in Cuba, it was convened the III National Underwater Photography Contest FOTOSUB 2011 from February 17 to 20, prior to the international edition.

A note from the Cuban Federation of Underwater Activities (FCAS) makes a call to this meeting to determine the local team that will compete in the international version, expected in April in the Isle of Youth.

These meetings bring together photographers and specialists in different branches, including models, doctors and researchers, who put their attention on an event with many angles, apart from tourism.

The organizers specified that the III National Championship will take place in waters near the National Aquarium in Havana and the competition will be with digital camera in accordance with the rules of the FCAS and the World Underwater Federation (CMAS).

They added the categories to compete will be: Fishes, Environment without diver; Environment with diver; and the first three places in the total qualification by points will comprise the Team Cuba.

This is one of the most important meetings of the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba (MINTUR), regarding the international meeting, scheduled in the waters surrounding the Island of Youth, a traditional venue for these practices.(Prensa Latina)
